So, if I work for the next two months(full time for one of them and part time for the other) I should have enough for the wheels I want! BUT I won't be able to get tires until about a few months after that. No big deal I guess. The tires will hopefully be in before car/autocross/track season starts. I will see how this all works out. . .

Oh yeah I did. They sound awesome! There is a slight problem. . . the touch the oil pan ever so slightly. Luckily JDL said they would replace them! So basically, I put them on, now I have to take them off, to put the stock ones on, until I can put the new ones on!

Toyo Proxes are expensive. But they have been my favorite double duty tire since I started buying them.

How concave are those wheels? They look nice

Those look pretty aggressive. I want something with tire life and grip. Sadly you can't get tires that last long and grip well. . .

Keep updating us on the FRS! Tires are a big part of performance so make sure you buy good ones, even if they're more expensive.

Dude that sounds perfect! Just enough growl at idle. Deep to medium low growl up to high rpm. Not much riceyrasp, and a clear distinct throbbing boxer rumble.
I hope on startup it growls nice so that people like me will start looking around for what made that noise haha.
And they want you to send them back before they send you new ones? Youd think with an issues like that theyd send you the replacement first to minimize downtime but okay...

It's a hard balance being an autocrosser getting a good set of lightweight wheels in the width you want to fit the tires you need. Not to mention smaller wheels are always faster, but rarely look better than bigger wheels.
I feel your pain, but if I could impart a bit of advice I'd say get the tires you want before the wheels, otherwise you'll be sliding all over the track in summer

What's the setup with the rest of the exhaust? Sound amazing. Not too metallic and "echo-y" like some of the UEL BRZ exhausts I've heard on YouTube - a perfect balance of smoothness and boxer growl.

Well they are still on holiday break, they are going to be in the shop next week, and they will tell me when I can expect the next set of headers. I can send the headers in anytime, I just want them off the car as fast as possible to minimize the issues with the oil pan!
On start up it is pretty loud. It starts with a nice roar. I think it is loudest then(besides WOT obviously) and it is pretty loud but it doesn't hurt your ears. To say the least I am pleased.

I won't skimp on the tires either. I will just have to work for them a little bit longer than I would have if I had bought cheaper wheels.

Gotcha. What kind of car do you rock for autocross? Class? What size wheels/tires are you looking for? Lastly, what kind of tires are you looking for?

Pretty concave in larger sizes like 17x9 and 18x9.5. Here is a set of 9.5s on a BRZ. It looks pretty amazing I think.

I run a Scion FRS what class depends on what mods I have done. As of right now I am in C stock, but I will probably move into STX. I personally don't mind moving classes cause I am competing with myself more than anything.
I will be trying to get a set of 17x9 inch wheels. They fit perfectly, provide more than enough grip for this car and don't change the gearing because they are the same height as stock.
I was looking for a summer tire that is both long lasting and provides good dry grip. Wet grip needs to be good, but nothing amazing.

duh, my bad, i somehow forgot about that small detail with the oil pan. Id want them off right away too.
Whats its like inside? You happy with it? Do you immediately regret not going louder or quieter?

Tires? Who needs tires?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't STX only allow 8" wide wheels? Or is that different on RWD cars? I come from AWD STX and 8" was the max for me.
I also ran Pilot Super Sports which had a 30k treadlife warranty, but that was void if you raced on them. That's still better than the ZIIs. Not to mention the M-PSS were great DD tires (quiet and comfy), great in the rain, and had more dry grip than my car could extract

That looks awesome. These in hypersilver or gunmetal would look awesome on your FRS. btw I liked the vid with the new headers. Sounded great

Well it is catless UEL header, with overpipe, catted frontpipe, and a catback with a resonator and muffler. Makes it perfect for DD and racing. Loud when you want it!

I do wish it was a bit punchier, but as it is now it is pretty sweet. I think for a DD it is just right. If this was my weekend car I would have wished it was louder.

Don't worry I will. I won't skimp on tires. A 17x7 with super grippy tires is much more effective than a 17x9 with all seasons.

They look great in any color really. I saw an FRS with these wheels, but they were red. Still looked great!
Pictures aren't working so here is a link!
